Inspiration: Move Over Martha!

Actually, more like Can I Move In Martha… please? I would love to be one of her minions who just spends days looking for the next ingenious storage solutions, the best wedding ideas, great wardrobe updates, anything. I am in love with these jewelry DIY projects. I think I will try one as soon as I have a few moments to spare. For now, I will just leave these to remind me to BE CREATIVE!

Feather and Beaded Necklaces I love love love long necklaces. I’ve made a couple out of simple gold and silver chains that I wear pretty often. But, this is a great update to those. Maybe, I’ll just make pendants that I can take on and off when I want. Hmm… how would I attach it?

Feather Headbands I feel like I almost missed the boat on this. Not sure if it’s still “in season”, but I will always love feathers and headbands. I think the bigger feather design looks more like a vintage, 1940′s chapeau…and that will never go out of style.

Bracelet Belts Now this is pure genius. All you need is an old bracelet (it could even be broken) and some ribbon. Add it to any flowy dress and taadaa: perfect silhouette for a night out!

Married Life

I’m coming up on almost a year being a Mrs. The hubby and I got married last May and it was such a perfect wedding. I had spent the year and a half prior just prepping for it as I wanted to add my personal touch to everything I possibly could. From altering my dress, designing all wedding papers based on our invitations (the original design was done by my friend Julia who is a graphic designer in NYC www.juliaclaire.org), and making my hairpieces, I thought I succeeded in creating a day that was truly “us”.

Since then, I’ve been asked to make some custom textile pieces for friends and family. I recently purchased my fabric and other fun embellishments and will begin work soon. I’ll be sure to record them as soon as I get them done. This may very well be the start of a little side business…

These shots were taken by the incredibly talented Oahu-based photographer Christie Pham.  Definitely keep her in mind when you need any wedding photos or family portraits – she travels out of the state too! She has a new blog as well and you might see some familiar faces in her header photo…
